The Challenge
As an 8.3 billion dollar company with 24,000 employees spread throughout the world, Alcon was looking for innovative and efficient ways to create deeper connections among its team members. The Global Professional Affairs team, led by Carla Mack and Cheryl Donnelly, includes 110-people representing more than 22 countries, and six different native languages. They found that virtual meetings were often inefficient and ineffective.
The Solution
Sanitas Advisors was hired to help the team build meaningful and authentic connections with each other, while delivering personal and professional development training. To improve effectiveness and communication, Sanitas partnered with 九色 to provide 12 simultaneous interpreters who translated various exercises into Russian, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish. Sanitas also provided a visual interpreter who captured key points using words and pictures.
