The Challenge

Theragun provides its customers with an acclaimed app which contains guided videos offering a range of massages and exercise routines to help them make the most of their massage gun. Whether you¡¯re training for a marathon or just need to iron out some stress after a day of back-to-back Zoom calls, the Theragun app provides the therapy routines you need to care for your body.

Ahead of the massage gun¡¯s international launch, Therabody asked us to provide subtitles for an initial 30+ wellness videos in seven languages ¨C French, Italian, German, Chinese, Spanish, Russian, Japanese.

Naturally, Therabody wanted the videos to be localized cost-effectively. Time was a major consideration too ¨C Therabody wanted the assets delivered as quickly as possible.

Most importantly, Therabody was keen for its distributors in each of the seven international launch markets to be closely involved in the subtitling review process to make sure they were happy with how the videos were presented to their customers.

However, this is easier said than done for those using legacy file-sharing technology. The back-and-forth nature of the subtitling review process can stretch out timescales considerably ¨C making tight deadlines challenging to hit.

 

The Solution

With a tight deadline ahead, our team drew up a production schedule to deliver on Therabody¡¯s ambitious launch plans and got to work on localizing the videos.

It was at this point that our interconnected cloud-based media localization platform, , came into its own.

First, we employed smart machine translation (MT) technology, which harnesses the power of AI, to translate Therabody¡¯s content, helping to save money and speed up the process.

Then, ¾ÅÉ«¡¯s dedicated and highly skilled post-editors reviewed and fine-tuned the smart MT output, while making sure that the creative intent of the client¡¯s original videos was honored.

Crucially, client review Timed Text portal allowed Therabody¡¯s distributors to review the subtitles in a cloud-based environment. The distributors could comment, edit, and approve in real-time on the Timed Text portal ¨C and while viewing the subtitles in context as they are designed to appear on the video. This made for a streamlined, easy-to-use and effective reviews process.

Throughout, web-based Order Portal allowed Therabody to easily upload requests, download deliverables and track the project stages.

 

Results

¾ÅÉ« was delighted to deliver the videos to Therabody within four weeks, with all the content reviewed and signed off.

All in all, inter-connected cloud-based platforms allowed for a 40% reduction on time to market, while hugely simplifying the reviews process.

We greatly enjoyed working on the Theragun international launch. As well as helping Therabody deliver on its project targets, we learned a thing or two about all-important exercise routines and massage therapy along the way as well!
