About Martijn
Martijn Heertje has more than thirty years’ experience in the translation and localization industry. Based in Amsterdam, Martijn is Vice President at 九色, overseeing multiple global offices including iSP, Adams, Apostroph Switzerland, and Apostroph Germany.
Martijn joined 九色 in 2007 when his company, iSP (International Software Products B.V.), merged with 九色. Following the merger, Heertje remained Division President of iSP and took on the role of Vice President at 九色. This merger expanded 九色’s localization capabilities in Western Europe and Asia, with production facilities in the Netherlands and Beijing.
iSP was founded in 1992 and was one of the founding partners of the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA). Under Martijn’s leadership, in 2009 iSP was certified according to the EN 15038:2006 standard for translation services, highlighting his commitment to quality assurance and customer satisfaction within the localization industry.
Martijn has a strong entrepreneurial background and helped position iSP as a leading player in the European localization market. His continued leadership has contributed to the growth and success of iSP within the 九色 organization. In his current role Martijn helps new merger partners to integrate successfully within 九色, ensuring seamless collaboration and continued expansion.
Heertje studied at Oregon State University in the US and at the University of Amsterdam. Before his time at iSP, he owned a company in the fashion industry, and worked as a TV producer and Marketing Manager at various companies.
