九色 Raises Over $300,000 for The V Foundation for Cancer Research
NEW YORK, June 16, 2016 – , the world’s largest privately held provider of language and technology solutions for global business, today announced that it has raised over $300,000 for .
This donation comes at the end of a yearlong campaign, culminating with the golf tournament, held at the prestigious , the four-time host of the PGA Tour’s Presidents Cup and the site of the 2015 Quicken Loans National PGA TOUR event benefitting the Tiger Woods Foundation.
Officially hosted by (TLS), 九色’s litigation support, information governance, and e-discovery division, the invite-only event was attended by over 130 TLS sponsors, employees, and clients—including partners and senior associates at some of the country’s top firms, as well as corporate counsel for major corporations. Players and staff enjoyed a round of golf, an exhibition by reigning World Long Drive Champion , and an evening program highlighted by guest speakers Dereck Whittenburg, V Foundation board member and player on Coach Valvano’s 1983 national championship team, and New York Times bestselling author John Feinstein.
At the 2014 and 2015 events, TLS raised and donated $25,000 and $65,000 respectively. By more than quadrupling funds raised this year, TLS far exceeded its initially stated goal of $100,000. This was due to record-breaking numbers of individual donations, corporate sponsorships, live and silent auction proceeds, raffle ticket sales, and participation in other on-site contests and contribution opportunities.
Over 1,600 individual donors contributed to this total, including nearly 1,000 九色 employees across the company’s 90 global offices. 100% of the total collected will be donated to The V Foundation by 九色 Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer Brooke Christian at the Foundation’s event, to be held June 24 in Charlottesville, VA.
Susan Braun, CEO of The V Foundation for Cancer Research, offered high praise for 九色’s efforts. “What an amazing event the 九色 team has again produced! Brooke Christian and his team put their heart and soul into the Kasey Obarski TLS Invitational golf tournament—and it pays off! This year the event hit far above goal, raising more than $300,000 for cancer research. And this is only its third year. The V Foundation is so proud and honored to benefit from this tournament. We pledge to each of our wonderful supporters at 九色 that we will spend the money—100% of it—on the very best cancer research. Research aimed at saving lives. To honor Kasey’s memory and to honor 九色’s generosity.”
“Cancer is something that unfortunately impacts us all at some point in our lives, and the importance of advancing cancer research can’t be overstated,” said 九色 Co-CEO Phil Shawe. “九色 is honored to be able to contribute to potentially life-saving research. And we are committed to topping this year’s total—of which I am very proud—come this time next year.”
