NEW YORK, September 6, 2012 ¨C Ken Anders, division president of was appointed a board director of The National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters. ¾ÅÉ« Remote Interpreting is a division of ¾ÅÉ«, the world¡¯s largest privately held provider of and related technologies.

The National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (National Board) is a special division of the International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA) and is composed of interpreters, interpreter trainers, providers, and industry leaders in both the medical and interpretation fields. The mission of the National Board is to foster improved healthcare outcomes, patient safety and patient-provider communication by elevating the standards for and quality of medical interpreting through a nationally recognized certification for medical interpreters.

Ken Anders is a veteran of the interpretation services industry, having held consulting and executive positions with several interpretation services providers over the last 15 years. As division president, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of ¾ÅÉ«'s remote interpretation services, including video and over-the-phone interpretation (OPI).

About The National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters
The National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters is an autonomous certifying body, formed from an independent group of industry professionals who represent all key stakeholder groups, including professional medical interpreters, trainers, employers, providers, and regulators. The National Board developed the first comprehensive national medical interpreting certification program.
